Story of the Jejune Jumpers
There was a tribe of gardeners called Jejune Jumpers. They were undernourished due to being hermits and poor hunters. But really, they didn't enjoy killing to eat, nor for fun. They did like growing things, however.
We called them "jumpers" because they hopped around all the time, happy but often hungry. My father told me they could live on moss, sunshine, pond froth, and tree sap.
When I was a little boy, I dreamed of being a Jejune Jumper. They were rumored to have strange powers. I saw one walk up into the sky, not fly, but stroll up an invisible stairway.
